The Fool
Card zero opens my Card of the Day series; this teaching first appeared on Facebook.
This is where the deck starts, card zero. A young traveler stands at the edge of a cliff with a small bundle on a stick, face turned up to the sun instead of down at his feet. His little white dog is right at his heels. He hasn't mapped the route. He's just going.
Upright, the Fool is the beginning before the plan exists. It's the yes you say before you've figured out the how, applying for the thing, booking the booth, posting the first video. The card doesn't promise it works out. It says standing still costs more.
Reversed, he's still at that cliff, but it splits two ways: either you won't step at all, or you're stepping without once looking down. Most of us have done both.
Mine this week was small. I filmed a reading clip I'd been putting off for a month because the lighting in my kitchen isn't right. It still isn't. I filmed it anyway.
What's one thing you've been circling that you could just start this week, before it feels ready?
If your own question is ready for a card, begin with a Single Card Pull. I’ll write what lands and send it the same day.
