The Magician

Facebook saw this look at the Magician before it joined my teaching shelf here.

The Magician tarot card

Card one, right after the Fool, and the energy changes completely. The Magician stands at a table with one hand pointed at the sky and the other at the ground. Laid out in front of him are the tools of all four suits: a cup, a sword, a wand, and a pentacle. The infinity symbol floats over his head, and roses and lilies grow around the table.

Upright, this card is about having what you need and actually using it. The Magician isn't waiting on a delivery. Everything the work requires is already on his table, the skill, the tools, the idea, the nerve. His gift isn't magic. It's that he picks things up and puts them together into something real.

Reversed, the tools stay on the table. It's the planner bought in January and never opened. The project that's been "almost started" since spring.

Mine is a stack of printed charts in a drawer that I keep meaning to turn into a reference binder. The charts are done. The only missing step is a twelve-dollar binder.

What's already on your table, a skill, a half-finished project, supplies you bought for something, that you could pick back up this week?

Have a decision that needs the tools already on your table? A Single Card Pull gives it one focused card, in writing the same day.
